"Cloud's future looking bright" is a title for an article published on the WhaTech Channel, relying on an IDG survey showing 50% of executive level respondents saying they believe that cloud will be transformational to their business strategies. "The prospects for cloud service providers look pretty rosy," they conclude. 56% said cloud accelerated their business value, and around 50% said that cloud was a catalyst for IT innovation and greater employee collaboration. "IDG’s survey, via email, of readers across a swathe of its US magazine websites - CIO, Computerworld, CSO, InfoWorld, ITworld, and Network World - elicited almost 1400 responses, 58 percent of them from executive IT roles and 17 percent from mid-level IT roles." The budgets that are expected to be spent on cloud computing are expected to increase by 51% by 2015.
CDN World Summit will be held in London, October 1-3, 2013. The event discusses latest strategies and technologies about media and other data delivery, and in 2012, the event attracted over 350 senior decision maker attendees from all over the world. 33% of the total audience were Board level, CxO level or Director level and boasted a 47% Service Provider attendance. GigaOM brings a discussion about what multiple clouds future will look like, with Brad Garlinghouse, a CEO at Hightail. Also, about what it means to be cloud agnostic, and "cloudnostic". “Cloudnostic” refers to the idea that there is not just one cloud. “We did some research with [research company] Osterman and we found that almost 20 percent of corporations in the EU already used between five and 15 cloud-based services,” says Garlinghouse. He expects companies to continue using multiple cloud based services.
