Recently, WebPerformanceToday issued a case study called "State of the Union for ecommerce web performance". The findings are related to speed of ecommerce site and are confirming what we already know - the web is getting slower.
While the median top 500 ecommerce website homepages took 7.7 seconds to load a year ago, it now takes 9.3 seconds to load (21% slowdown). There are many reasons for that, but let's take a look at the infographic below:
